Green Village

«Green Village», a new major project in the heart of the international district of Geneva

1218
Grand Saconnex, Genf / Genève
Route des Morillons 1
mixed use

This new international intersection features a first-class working environment in close proximity to all international organisations. Green Village consists of seven buildings accommodating  offices, living areas and hotel business, circling around the central building of the ecumenic council of the churches. It stands out for its proximity to the airport, the highway and the train station as well as for its remarkably green environment. In addition, the main building of the ecumenic council of churches will house a conference centre with a capacity of up to 300 persons.

The intended concept of pavilions enables a network of generous and transparent green areas accessible to the public as well as the people living or working in the buildings. There will be two spacious squares in Green Village : on Route des Morillons and in front of the entrance to the ecumenic council of churches.

First stage of construction

The first stage of construction will be completed in 2023 with buildings Kyoto (administrative) and Montréal (apartments), followed by the building Rio, which will host a combo “hotel/apart-hotel”. For the administrative building, the areas are suited for open-plan as well as individual offices divided into spaces from 280 m2 upwards

One planet Living® label for sustainability

Particular attention in the development of this project has been given to energy efficiency and environmental friendliness by integrating the newest technology. Thus, Green Village is one of the first real estate development projects to receive the One Planet Living®-Standard for Biodiversity (an initiative of WWF to create sustainable areas in Switzerland, its method of application being developed jointly with Implenia). The buildings will be supplied at a 100% by renewable energy originating from photovoltaic plants, microgrids or ground-source heat. To mark this commitment, each new building is symbolically named after the major international agreements on sustainable development: Kyoto, Montreal, Rio, Lima, Durban and Stockholm.
